According to opinion polls, German Chancellor Angela Merkel looks to secure a safe victory in elections this September. If elected to a fourth term, what initiatives will she focus on to define her legacy? How will her leadership affect the balance of power in Europe? Will national security and refugee migration continue to be a challenge? Does Merkel have the political clout to garner strong support from EU members and other nations and move forward with the Paris Accord?
