Join Social Venture Network at Golden Coast Mead for an inspiring evening of conversation, delightful beverages, delicious food, and community with mission-driven business leaders in Southern California.

The event will feature a lively panel discussion between Kris Buchanan (CEO/Founder, GOODONYA), Frank Golbeck (CEO/Co-Founder, Golden Coast Mead), and Janie Hoffman (CEO/Founder, Mamma Chia) moderated by Robert Foster (Board Member, Social Venture Network).

This event is an ideal opportunity for social entrepreneurs, impact investors, and sustainable business leaders to build relationships with their peers in the Oceanside/San Diego area and to learn from the entrepreneurial journeys of three successful, innovative leaders.

Attendance is limited to 50 guests. Tickets include generous appetizers from Urge Gastro Pub (California Gastropub), a tasting flight of delightful, effervescent, San Diego-style meads (honey libations), and a chalice of mead.

Golden Coast Mead crafts authentic, modern meads that delight ecologically conscious and adventurous consumers. We endeavor to restore the health of the honeybee through the transformation of the honey market. We intend to lead the mead category as a creative, quality and regenerative force for good in the world. Our Meads are Different. Lighter bodied, honey forward but balanced, we make most of our meads with ale yeast, a 1-to-4 California Honey to San Diego Spring Water Ratio, and an element like oak or lactobacillus to balance the finish. Our meads are like drinking a refreshing ale or invigorating sparkling wine, we want them to spread mirth, and arouse people to the beauty of life.

What is Mead? Mead is alcohol which is produced by fermenting honey. It is the oldest alcoholic beverage in the world. Mead is a whole spectrum of alcohol, so it can be light ABV, dry, and refreshing, or thick, sweet and strong, bubbly or still and anywhere in between with any number of additional ingredients. It is very creative, it is very versatile, it is timeless and we think it can be good for the earth. Mead doesn’t need huge monocultures of grapes and grain to produce; all it needs are bees on a healthy ecosystem and beekeepers paying attention.
