Impact HUB Global Gathering
June 24, 2018—June 26, 2018$480
NEIGHBOURHOOD – NETWORK – WORLD
– Co-Creating for a better tomorrow –
Once a year, the Impact Hub Network gathers to share best practices in hosting collaborative spaces and global networks for impact. This year, hosted in Impact Hub Montreal‘s unique church setting, Salon 1861, we look forward to exploring the practice of hosting, innovating the business model of shared spaces, and governance from the local to global level from June 24th, 2018 until June 26th, 2018.
Are you a change-maker or interested in inspiring, connecting or enabling social innovators?
Do you want to learn from experts, share knowledge and build your network around the world?
Then Makers Festival is for you!
No change happens at scale without first starting locally, in our own neighborhoods and communities. Through this lens, hosting brings together those who share challenges in their neighborhoods and communities – virtually and in shared spaces, through design and governance models that reflect the needs of those who will benefit. Creating a strong local community must also look at ways to allow for self-reflection and learning, for inclusiveness and succession, while at the same time preparing and empowering the community to scale.
Once strong at the local level, communities from across regions and networks can begin to reach out, to work together, and explore how to affect larger, stronger networks. Exploring the various models that allow for closer collaborations, participants will learn more about the opportunities available, such as B-Corps. How do we share best practices around critical components needed to succeed at the network level, such as gaining access to capital, governance for scale and across regions and cultures, and, not least of all, building a strong sense of community across networks and regions?
Building resilient local and regional networks is how true Global change is realized, but where challenges remain. The desire to maintain the closeness of the local while reaching out across multiple continents and cultures, of respecting the beliefs and efforts of others, and of finding new and innovative ways to create synergy across different methodologies prevail. At this level, the right corporate partner can help to bring the foundation needed to further enhance and amplify the impact we seek to have. The role of networks in influencing policy and helping to achieve global goals, such as the SDGs, becomes more tangible.
