Conveners.org May 2022 Member Call – Accessing Inclusion: Improving Accessibility at Your Events

With 15% of the global population living with a disability, combined with an increasingly complex world, it is more important than ever to ensure our events are accessible. In this session, Ashton Rodenhiser, a professional visual communicator, will lead us in an open discussion on accessible event concepts and design.

We will consider such questions as:

• When do I need audio descriptions?
• What’s the difference between A.I.-based captions and a human captioner?
• How do I make sure that I have things set up in a way that benefits folks who are neurodiverse?

During this interactive workshop, Ashton will share what she has learned through her work with over 150 events and participants will be encouraged to share their own tips and best practices.
