Facilitating the process of change is a complex endeavor: it usually involves a large number of stakeholders who have diverse values, priorities, and perspectives on what the problems are and different views on what solutions might effectively address them. Most often, there are no single ‘right’ answers that can be provided by ‘expert’ because social and environmental challenges are political and value-based.

The role of an adaptive leader is to mobilize a group of stakeholders to do ‘adaptive work,’ i.e., to facilitate a transformative process that unleashes the collective intelligence in the group in order to generate innovative and mutually beneficial solutions for both the social and ecological systems impacted.

The course includes 8 sessions of 2-hour each delivered online via the interactive Zoom platform over a period of 4 weeks. Two sessions are held on Friday each week: 10am-12pm PST for Sessions A and 1:00pm-3:00pm PST for Sessions B. There is an additional one-hour meet-up session on the Friday before the course begins (11:00am-12:00pm PST).

Course Dates: Jul 7 (Meet-up); Jul 14 (Sessions 1A + 1B); Jul 21 (Sessions 2A + 2B); Jul 28 (Sessions 3A + 3B); Aug 4 (Sessions 4A + 4B).
